I'm feeling a little hesitation....I finished my first block and was so pleased with myself since it was the first time I have ever appliqued. It's a simple pattern. It took no time at all. I was so pleased....until I looked at all the other blocks that have been sent back to V. Oh, they're amazing! Now my block looks rather juvenile...and simple and like it took no time at all to make. I will be spending a bit more time on my second block. Sure hope this one is ok.

Well I think it's great, and give yourself a big pat on the back for trying something new!
Jodie, I feel the same way! I am so overwhelmed by the awesome applique I am afraid to start! I had thought I wanted to try reverse applique but now I am just not sure. Maybe a little more detail, some birds in the sky, would add to it. The balloon is a great idea!
It's perfect! Don't judge it by the others! it's your first one! Good job! You tried something new and you did it! These quilts are about sharing with others. I'm thrilled you went for it! Good job!
It's wonderful!

I love the hot air balloon! I'm fusing my first block because I'm totally chickened out to try hand applique. But we all have to start somewhere and you are way ahead of me!
Great blocks! I think you're awesome for offering to give it a go. But I actually think hand stitched applique is easier. You are more in control and you can use lots of pins too. Give it a go sometime and you might be surprised.
I love it. Good for you.
We all have to start somewhere and each block tells it's own story. Just think how much more interesting the quilt will be for the owner when they can see that many hands made it!
I didn't look at the blocks until I was through thus why I am so late commenting. I think yours is very cute and even though different it is great.
